Seaside Cave Map
Near the ruins of Caer Venrau (the subject of last week’s Friday Map) is an ancient cave that has been partially expanded by human hands to serve as an escape tunnel from the castle to a small sheltered cove on the opposite face of the cliff.
Most of the cave is natural, although the first fifty or so feet on the side of Caer Venrau are crudely man-made to link the natural cave to the old castle foundations.
It is said that Lord Venrau met his end in these caves, trying to escape as the Kale razed his fortress, only to discover that an elven assassin awaited him within.
Because both entrances to the cave are now open to the elements and the ruins of Caer Venrau are so rarely visited, the cave is often home to a variety of creatures who take advantage of it’s shelter and easy access to the sea.

I like this one a lot. It would have been cute to explicitly see the high-tide and low-tide levels, but that’s easy to slap on later. Thanks for this.
The skeletal remains are a nice touch. As always, awesome!
The Bane
Hello
I am a French designer, and I’m “Faeriss”, aka Pascal.
Firstly, congratulations for your blog and your creations! I particularly like your concept of “a dungeon by day” in the “Mapping Challenge”.
I wanted to tell you that I had taken your concept on my blog in a “dungeon week” and I found it important to have your permission to continue using your plans. I started with only three dungeons in color, texture and shadow effects.
To see them, I would leave you this link that goes directly to the English version of my blog: http://en.simulaccro.over-blog.com/
I must clarify that my blog is becoming, on the web French, a reference in the French designs for role play. And I sincerely wish to speak to you and your creations on my blog and forums that I frequent (with a link to your blog …).
So should I your permission to use all of your maps?
Thank you for reading. And I sincerely hope a positive response from you.
Best regards,
Pascal “Faeriss”
I used this last night, as the PCs pursued a mind-controlled ally and their hostage through the tunnels, while battling the sahuagin that had occupied it. It worked nicely. They got the hostage back, but the ally is still mind-controlled, and will make trouble for them next session. 🙂
