Dyson's Delve - Level 8
Level 8 of Dyson’s Delve is one of the smaller levels, with only 7 distinct “rooms” (a few of which are subdivided into separate areas). It also has the honour of being the first level where I get to put Owlbears in the mix.
Seriously, who doesn’t love OwlBears?
Heathens.
This level was fun to stock, and the approaching solstice has me in a bit of a comical mood (don’t ask why) – so there is a joke mixed in to the key (although it won’t be funny for the players, but the GM might enjoy the fact that the room full of mushrooms is keyed as “badger badger badger badger”.)
Or not.
You can download the fully stocked One Page Dungeon PDF here.
Or, as usual, you can click on the map below to download the high res version of the unkeyed map for your own use.
Thanks for another great level — Owlbears do indeed RULE!
Let me guess: Level 9 will include a serpent of some kind.
Sweet! Owlbears, my favorite monster for scaring the crud out of low level adventures; lots of swings and lots of damage. However Owlbear eggs were big cash to the smart adventurer.
This is an interesting level–very different from the temple level, which feels like a conspiracy-type plot would develop from. I like how you put contrast into each level.
My players and I are having a blast with this. They have reached level seven and will soon be entering level 8 in Dyson’s Delve. While I was creating this next level (8) in Dundjinni, I noticed that it says 3 owlbears, but only hp for two are given. Which is correct?
Btw, the level size is *perfect* for Dundjinni. Each fits exactly one one map. I don’t have to split it and put it together in Gimp afterwards. 🙂
Awesome!
I’m not sure which I would go with – depends on your party.
Actually, I’m lying, I would go with three. More is better.
Hehe, that was what I decided as well. I see the wounded fighter for my inner eye, hiding after fighting the zombie trogs and losing his friends to the bottomless pool, the ogres and the surprisingly spry old bear. Sitting there, drying his eyes, sniffling…: “I need a hug…”
