Seriously, I miss the wonderyears of the d20 glut era of Polyhedron magazine, when they too added to the number of d20 games on the market with every other issue.
The Groll above I scanned from the Iron Lords of Jupiter mini-game in Polyhedron #160 (one of the last minigames they published, I believe it was followed by Deathnet and that was the end of the run).
That guy up there makes me want to make a d20 modern character to crashland on Jupiter. Iron Lords of Jupiter was an excellent planetary romance game, built nicely atop the framework of the d20 modern system. I particularly yearn for it after trying to work my way through Sundered Reaches…
Maybe I’ll roll up a Groll next week for the blog.
I miss the Polyhedron mini-games. Omega World, Shadow Chasers, etc. They all got great gameplay with my group and I was deeply dissapointed when the mini-games went the way of the dodo. 😦
Oh my gosh, I had forgotten about all of those nifty mini-games. I was always pleased with the gluts that came from d20 and the AD&D 2e era because I had tons of options to chose from. I like choices. 🙂
