Dyson's Dodecahedron Issue 3
Whoa, what?
I’m actually keeping up with my New Year’s resolution to put up one of these a month. Shocking.
Dyson’s Dodecahedron Issue 3 is a 12-page PDF of material for and from my B/X D&D games culled from the pages of this blog. This issue is centred around rules and material to help bring back that “sense of wonder” by twisting concepts and changing what the players should expect from the game. Contained in this issue are:
- Uniquely Undead (updated and expanded)
- The Undead Guardians of Veroth
- Reskinning Dragons
- Ruins of the Gorgon
- Random Curses
The whole kit and kaboodle is formatted in an easy-to-print 12 page digest-sized publication that you can download here.
And while that is downloading, how about commenting here with what other articles from the site you would like to see in future issues of the Dodecahedron?
My favourite issue so far!!
How about a stocked version of the Lizard Cairn and/or Ochre Rock? But whatever is in issue 4 I’m sure it will be great. Keep ’em coming please!
The Lizard Cairn was originally going to be in issue 2, but the big data-crash killed it. It’s hard to motivate yourself to re-write something you already wrote but lost. The Lizard Cairn will rise again, probably with Ochre Rock and maybe the whole environment around that adventure that I ran that contained both of them.
Cool. I do like these. Full of useful things 🙂
You know my answer: Stag Centaurs!
Thanks for the zine… what a cool thing to share!
Thank you so much for 3 issues of so much awesome I’m stunned it fits in 12 pages.
Dyson’s Dodecahedron is an amazing thing to read. It and this site are part of the reason I started getting into RPGing. My compliments.
Another awesome issue!
I’m curious what program you use to put it together?
While all my PDFs up until this year were assembled using Open Office on a Linux system, I recently went “pro” and these were put together using Adobe InDesign on a Windows 7 system.
I am digging the mini-scenario. Come to think of it, the same goes for the ones in the previous two issues as well. Imaginative, action-packed, to the point. Keep going! 🙂
I’ve been adding these links to my “To Read” list, and am now finally getting around to putting them on my ipad (which is realistically the only place I’ll actually read them!) Looking forward to it–I’ve been passing a ton of your content on to my GM for our Swords & Wizardry game.

Just dropping through a note to say that these are wonderful 😀
I look forward to the next one muchly —
Thanks.
And speaking of which, I should really get on that, eh? Not a lot of April left. My goal was to have the April release out as the “Z” entry in the A to Z blogging challenge – Z is for Zines.
