I’ve pimped Old School Hack here before, but I’ll take today to congratulate Kirin (the author) on picking up a Gold ENnie with this awesome new-school dungeon hacking RPG.
For those of you who haven’t checked out Old School Hack yet, it is a free download from www.OldSchoolHack.com. You can also check out my sample character that I rolled up and played in my first game of OSH – Blighter Joe, my halfling / goblin.
Total righteous ENnie win!
I’m going to try running this tonight, but maybe you can clarify something in the rules that’s puzzling me? The characteristic test is d12+relevant char bonus vs d12 + DM-assigned relevant char bonus…. but does that mean an arbitrary difficulty number to make the task easier or harder according to the DM’s judgement… or is it actually supposed to be vs another char bonus from the same char? E.g. is it something like a test of Commitment vs. d12+2 for hard or -2 for easy, or a test of Commitment vs that same characters Brawn? The rules make it sound like the latter, but don’t give any examples….
Aw, thanks Dyson!
The fact that it won an ENnie is really due to cool dudes like you pimping it. Thanks again, man. One day I will indeed run it for you!
