Somewhere in the local megadungeon is a set of caves said to be where the mystical “moss diamond” is hidden, protected by a foul wyrm or some other beast with foul breath attack.
This map is intended to link two other maps together, a mid-level for an existing dungeon that needs something different (or a location for the treasure map to lead you to).
It was drawn in the Holly King, my dollar store notebook, in a single draft using a plain 0.7mm black gel pen. As usual, feel free to stock or use this dungeon for your own games, and even for your blog (as long as you credit the source and claim no copyright on it).
If you like the Caves of the Moss Diamond, be sure to check out Dyson’s Delves, a book of maps and adventures that I sell to pay for the continued time and internet connectivity required to work on producing free stuff for you.
Also, don’t forget the coolness that is happening this month over at Mithril & Mages and Tenkar’s Tavern as they run (and I help judge) the Grand Original Map Contest!
Nice use of multi-levels and curves to avoid the “trapped by 8×11” effect. I can see this as a set of worked caverns under the ruins of a manor house, with the down-stairs leading to natural caves that hold… ?
