If you are going to play with googly eyes, it just seems appropriate that sooner or later you start using them on beholders! Actually, putting googly eyes on beholders is like picking low-hanging fruit.
Funny-looking googly-eyed low-hanging fruit.
Let’s start with the new fifth edition Monster Manual. If you have Rick Deckard’s Blade Runner department issued computer you can probably get a photo of me from the reflection in the beholder’s central eye…
One of my favourite beholders of all time (because of the weird expression), this guy is from the old Dark Sun boxed set.
And this is actually just 11 googly eyes on my table. But it looks like a beholder, right?
Googly eyes just make everything better. Works on minis too!

Those bats make cute familars! Googly eyes suit a beholder and especially the last picture does evoke a sense of dungeneering, when all you can see are the glowing eyes in the dark, your demise only seconds away ;).

Next up, false eyelashes on a beholder? I could totally see that. Also… do you think they blink all at once, at random, or in a sort of ripple?
What’s wrong with that dwarf attacking the beholder?
