It should come as no surprise for anyone who has had to deal with the Obsidian Clan bugbears that Nagmer the Terrible meets anyone who requests to parlay with him in the most ridiculously ostentatious cavern setup he could arrange.
Nagmer’s throne cavern is a multi-tiered affair with a natural stone bridge over an underground river. The whole cavern is lit by a massive colony of well-fed fire beetles that crawl along the floor, walls and stalactites. Any discussion with Nagmer is usually conducted by yelling from the stone bridge as his guards block the way onto the north side of the cavern.
The vast majority of these negotiations end without any success, and a fair number end with Nagmer enjoying the envoy for dinner.

Love all your maps, thanks for making so many of them available for lazy GMs who instantly up their game through their use (but woe to the GM who thinks a fancy map is enough to bluff their way through a 6 hour session without any prep)
Just a slight suggestion for the Bugbear Clan in question… tactically, as published this setup would be a deathtrap during any siege without an emergency exit. Bugbears are Chaotic-Evil, but not stupid, with intellect equal to a human. As a GM using this map, I’d have at least two secret tunnels leading to a well hidden exit to the surface or fallback position (Search DC 30 and must be within 30′ of the exit to even make the check) in the Underdark.
I check every day to see the new posts, and have used a dozen of your maps in my own bi-weekly game. My players are always “Ooh-ing” and “Ah-ing” whenever I pull out a printed map with the letter scratched out in pen and renamed. : )
Head down the stairs to the “water room” where they collect water from the river. From there, follow the river until you get to the secret exit tunnel. 😉
That works I suppose : P
I might have a small collection of lifeboats, or canoes, ready to hit the river, or even a consumable Cauldron of Mass Breathe Water for Bugbear tribe members to swim to safety in the event of overwhelming odds. Maybe even have the goblins taunt any pursuing heroes to follow them down river… then look up the drowning rules for intrepid players who are overly bold.
I like my villains to recur whenever possible, which has led my players to ash any foe in fear it will be rezzed to haunt them later.
TY for replying Dyson.
This reminds me of one of the things I love so much about the Wraith RPG… if you kill your opponents, they WILL reform, with one less hit point. So now in addition to pissing them off, you have caused them to be permanently slightly weaker. So they will be even more bastardly when they come looking for revenge.
