Every month we go through our back catalog of maps and the many amazing supporters of the blog over on Patreon vote on which two should be re-released under the free commercial use license. In March all the choices were curated from maps of ruins found on the blog. It doesn’t surprise me in the least that this map was the top choice, getting three times the votes as any other map and getting half of the overall votes.

There are a number of stories as to why this tower is so deeply embedded in the earth – stories of earth elementals trapping it by raising the land around it; of epic castings of transmute rock to mud sinking it; and of course that some potent deity smashed it into the ground as punishment (perhaps the wizard who first built the tower shouldn’t have named their latest spell “Thor’s Wimpy Comeback”?)
But here it is… all eleven remaining levels (some significantly less intact than others) of the sunken tower. Based on the debris and structure, it can be surmised that there were another two to six levels above the ruined crest of the current structure at some point.

This map is based on a request from Kurt LaRue, one of the supporters of my Patreon campaign. I try to post a call for requests a few times a year for patrons at the $2.50 level and up. This one really came together nicely.
This map is made available to you under a free license for personal or commercial use under the “RELEASE THE KRAKEN” initiative thanks to the awesome supporters of my Patreon Campaign. Over 900 awesome patrons have come together to fund the site and these maps, making them free for your use.
Because of the incredible generosity of my patrons, I’m able to make this map free for commercial use also. Each month while funding is over the $400 mark, we choose a map from the blog’s extensive back catalog to retroactively release under this free commercial license. You can use, reuse, remix and/or modify the maps that are being published under the commercial license on a royalty-free basis as long as they include attribution (“Cartography by Dyson Logos” or “Maps by Dyson Logos”).
Perfect for the Gamma World game I’m prepping. Now to decide what mutants, bots, and artifacts reside inside it!
Reblogged this on Iho's Chronicles and commented:
A Great map that gives me ideas for Great projects
This is your father’s lightsaber. He wanted you to have it when you were old enough.
Always a sucker for another tower.
Added to the Blog Database.
Has anyone had any luck putting this to a grid? Seems that if I align one level, all of the others are off, which is unfortunate as it makes the map pretty much unusable on VTTs like Roll20.
It was drawn one level at a time and then assembled on the page without maintaining a consistent grid.
