(Last Update: August 2016 – 19 Character Sheets)
I’ve produced a number of character sheets, primarily for B/X Dungeons & Dragons (or Labyrinth Lord) over the years that the blog has been running.
B/X Dungeons & Dragons or Labyrinth Lord Landscape Sheet
[July 2009] This sheet is a single-sided design that covers just about everything needed for a D&D character, with lots of room for equipment and stuff. There won’t be enough room on this kind of sheet for a mid to high level magic user or cleric because of their spell lists (we just wrote the spells on the back of the sheet).
B/X Dungeons & Dragons or Labyrinth Lord Character Folder
[August 2009] This two-sided sheet is meant to be folded in half to form a digest-sized booklet. The most important information is on the cover and most equipment is on the back page. The middle two pages have places for treasure, spells, and lots of room for notes.

Basic Fantasy Character Folder
[August 2013] Based on the Dungeons & Dragons character folder above, this was modified from my source files by “DonsSword” for the Basic Fantasy RPG.
B/X Dungeons & Dragons or Labyrinth Lord PocketMod Booklet
[February 2011] I love PocketMods – for the unfamiliar they are little 8-page booklets folded from a single piece of letter-sized paper. So I drew up a character sheet for Labyrinth Lord or B/X Dungeons & Dragons in this format. Unfortunately I don’t have the source files anymore and there’s a minor mistake – AC8 is listed twice on the To Hit chart instead of AC9. But it’s a minor screw-up for such an awesome sheet.
Biohazardous Mutant Future Sheet
[February 2010] Mutant Future is a simple game emulating the look and feel of Gamma World 1e while maintaining near perfect rules compatibility with Labyrinth Lord. I was inspired by the trifoil designs of the biohazard and radiation symbols to make this quick and dirty sheet for Mutant Future play.
Dungeon Crawl Classics Zero Level Character Sheets by Kirin Robinson
This awesome character sheet for the DCCRPG was drawn and published by Kirin Robinson of Gelatinous Cubedand the award-winning Old School Hack RPG. He based the design on my old B/X character sheets, and doesn’t link to them on any of his websites anymore, so they are presented here with his permission. These are half-sized sheets – two character sheets fit on a page, and the second page is a set of Torch and Lantern tracking cards that are also totally epic and worth checking out on their own!
Dungeon Crawl Classics Character Folders by Kirin Robinson
More awesome DCC stuff from Kirin. Designed in the same style as the level 0 sheets above, this character sheet is designed to be folded into a digest-sized booklet for easy (and sexy!) character storage and access.
Neoclassical Geek Revival Character Sheet
[July 2014] Taking my hand-drawn style to a whole new level, I designed this new sheet for Zzarchov Kowolski’s fifth edition of the Neoclassical Geek Revival RPG based on the design he did for the fourth edition. The design elements remain almost identical to the original, but the style is a drastic departure from both his original and my own earlier character sheet designs.
Elaborate B/X Dungeons & Dragons or Labyrinth Lord AEC Sheet
[July 2014] Based on the enthusiastic response I received for the NGR sheet, I decided it was finally time to update my Dungeons & Dragons sheets in a similar style. Once again going over the top in ornamentation, this was the final result. The back page of this sheet is the same one as the back page of the NGR sheet because I was too lazy to make a new generic back page.
Fifth Edition Permanent Character Folder by Paul Longino
[February 2015] Modeled after the 1979 AD&D1e Permanent Character Folder, this four-page sheet (well, 5 pages because there are two versions of page 3 to choose from) really hit the spot for my Fifth Edition D&D group after an abortive attempt to use a sheet that was inspired by my own sheets above.
Gangbusters Character Sheet
[November 2014] Actually based entirely on a sheet I was using in a dream, this tries to bring the various elements of the dream sheet together for use with the classic TSR roaring 20’s RPG – Gangbusters!
Quick & Dirty Empire of the Petal Throne Character Sheet
[March 2015] Definitely my least favourite character sheet from the blog, I needed a sheet for a game of Empire of the Petal Throne and threw this together quickly on the spot. It definitely needs a lot of work to bring it up to the level of my other works – but it remains functional.
Empire of the Petal Throne Character Sheet v2
[May 2015] A much nicer and more ornate version of my previous Empire of the Petal Throne record sheet, this one-sided sheet also appeared in issue 3 of James Maliszewski’s “Excellent Travelling Volume”.
Deluxe Tunnels & Trolls
[September 2015] Not my best work – I don’t like how much of the Charisma box is eclipsed in this version. Definitely needs to be reworked one of these days.

Micro Dungeon Crawl Classics Sheet
[November 2015] A very small character sheet drawn on a small 4″ x 3″ pad of paper during a DCC game. There’s enough stuff on this sheet to handle most low-level characters. It is only available in jpg format right now (no PDF link, sorry).
BroadSword 1PG System Character Sheet
[January 2016] A half-page character sheet for the 1PG system game “BroadSword”. While the whole point of the 1PG games is that the rules and character sheet fit on a single page, I wasn’t really a fan of the sheet design. Thus this one was thrown together one evening.
Neoclassical Geek Revival 6th Edition
[March 2016] After producing the official character sheet for the 5th edition of Neoclassical Geek Revival, I was tapped again this spring to see if I would be up to making the sheet for the latest edition. It took a couple of tries, but I’m quite happy with the end result.
Empire of the Petal Throne version 3 (Portrait)
[April 2016] My third run at an Empire of the Petal Throne character sheet, this version was set up in a landscape format because most players seem to prefer that format. It’s also a lot more ornate than my previous versions and includes a bit more information (including ability score modifiers).

Thank you!
these are wonderful – unfortunately (for me at least) I’m running Blood & Treasure – which has a different set of saves (Fortitude, Reflexes, Will) – I’d love to see one of your sheets done with these non standard saving systems….
Very wonderful work all Round though, do carry on!
B&T is an awesome game.
I’m thinking of taking the sheet I drew most recently for Labyrinth Lord and erasing the saving throw block down there and replacing it with a block with BAB and alternate saving throws for various games like that.
I would also have to figure out a new use for the To Hit scroll at the bottom.
Dyson — I have a simple home-made sheet I cooked up for B&T; if you want a PDF of it to see, let me know how’s the best way to fling it at you. Also, it has portions I’m happy with (stats, saves, tasks), portions that are house-ruled (the gear ladder snipped from LotFP) and portions I’m not all that happy with (combat stattery mostly).
Viktor, I’d love a copy of that sheet for my B&T game (I also use the LotFP encumberance system)!
Sure; here you go: http://bit.ly/BTcharsheet
Love to see what you could do with a character sheet for Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea
I second this!
These are great, printed out a few today, many thanks 🙂
These are Brill! If it’s not too cheeky to ask, which font do you use on the B/X sheets? I ask so that I can adapt them for my house rules B/X games.
The font in question is Satan’s Minions.
Thanks a lot for that. And for the morbidly curious here’s a link to the little bit of mischief I got up to with the fonts and your lineless character folder. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B87xiSdw9AHvLW8tRmJsOHlmSW8/view?usp=sharing

Hey, the Basic Fantasy RPG sheet looks nice, but that descending AC attack table at the bottom is incorrect; BFRPG uses ascending AC exclusively, and should have fields for Attack Bonus. I generally create sheets with AB given “plain” as well as with Strength bonus for Melee and Dexterity bonus for Missile.
Dyson, Gonnerman,
Here is a modified version of the basic fantasy sheet, that could probably be used for B/X also. I love your work Dyson, and just made it a little more useful for my party.

Hello,
I translated the sheet for my players and made some minor changes (I deleted the “Magic items” box and made it to a Portrait box). All other art was made by Wendelin Boeheim (free woodcuts).

Sorry about the massive delay. I don’t check in here often enough. 🙂
I know you’ve created at least one Palladium Fantasy character on this blog, I’d love to see your take on a 1e character sheet. That’s what I’m currently running for my group.
Decades ago I even drew one such sheet. 1e Palladium Fantasy is a wonderful game.
I might get around to this sooner than later.
These are great, especially the NGR6th and the elaborate LL sheet! Would also love one with the 3 saves from 3E. Can one modify these? Then I could hack it together myself.
Can you please do one for AFF2? It would be awesome .
Impressive work, Dyson! Would you never take into account the Swords & Wizardry character sheet (with the unified saving throw)?
I will not support the single-save Heresy.
Any chance of a Fantasy Age sheet, or even suggestions on creating similar sheets for myself? Love your stuff.
Oh wow, the permanent character record! I love those when I started playing, lovely to see an updated version, cheers!
Thanks for sharing these. They’re all amazing! I printed out the B/X pocketmod and just happened to notice the To Hit column has AC8 listed twice. Not a problem for me, but thought you might like to know!
Hey, I’m looking for this sheet, it supposed to be here. But is isn’t. Any help?
That sheet was made and then sold by a third party using all my art and assets, but without permission or licensing or giving me any of the revenue from selling it.
Well can you stop whining and make one for 5e?
Gee, with all that encouragement, I’ll get right on it, boss.
While, I agree completely with your reaction here… Um, man I would love to have one of your sheets for 5th. Please consider it? That’s actually why I was on this page… Some of us 5th edition players do have manners. ;^)
Wow, Joe… entitled much?
Hello,
I’m trying to find if anyone has or knows how to do a 1st Ed Pathfinder sheet in the style of the old AD&D character folios. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You Sir are most excellent. I don’t play D&D currently, Cypher System is my game of choice at this time. I would love, and maybe even sell a bit of my soul, for a Cypher System character sheet done in the style you did the Elaborate B/X Dungeons & Dragons or Labyrinth Lord AEC Sheet.
Keep up the very non-heinous work and map on.
I just recently read your Mork Borg posts and immediately ran to the character sheet downloads hoping to discover one of your wonderful character sheets in Mork Borg form. Alas! The cupboard was bare (woe and despair!). I’m 100% sure you could do it justice!
